AKH was born from a practical observation shaped by its founder’s leadership experience: complex health-sector challenges were often addressed through external expertise, even though a deep understanding of institutions, markets, operating constraints and implementation realities is essential to designing solutions that can work. The point was never to oppose local and international expertise. It was to combine the best of both: contextual intelligence, the most relevant expertise wherever it is located, and a standard of rigour and delivery comparable with the strongest advisory practices.

A pharmacist by training, Dr Anne-Maryse K’HABORE brings more than fifteen years of experience across the pharmaceutical industry, public-sector leadership, regional governance and health advisory work. She held leadership roles in international pharmaceutical companies before serving as Director General of Burkina Faso’s CAMEG, the country’s National Central Medical Store, and later held regional leadership responsibilities within the African network of Central Medical Stores. This cross-sector experience informs AKH’s ability to connect strategy, institutions, markets and execution.
